How
it all started…
Education
Before earning a Masters
degree in Visual Arts Education from DePaul University
I had a 17 as a commercial photographer / digital artist. It began
with a Bachelors degree in Cinema and Photography
from Southern Illinois University. The Communications
school there built the foundation for many top name advertising
photographers. Chicago, being a major advertising community with
some of the largest agencies is the best place for launching a career.
Apprentice
After graduating Southern Illinois University I spent a year on
Staff as a production assistant for studio that photographed Playboy
editorial, cars, special effects, food and products, as well as
35mm motion picture film for television commercials. After a year
there I progressed to being a freelance production assistant providing
highly demanded services for an array of advertising photography
studios and film production companies. I earned my keep assisted
production of advertising art in any way needed by photographers
and motion picture film producers / directors in a constantly changing
environment on as needed basis.
Catalog
Photographer
No studio photography career is
complete without working for high volume catalog houses. I with
Art Directors and Designers to complete high volume multiple page
layouts for clients that included Sears, Kraft, Montgomery Wards,
Land's End, Territory Ahead and Hilton Athletic Wear.
